My beautiful wife, and without doubt, my better half Emma has had a manageable blood cancer for the past 10 years.
Recently it's taken a turn for the worse and progressed to Myelofibrosis and now she needs a bone marrow transplant, and that requires a stem cell donor.
We've been married 37 years, have 2 grown up kids, a beautiful little grand daughter and another on the way. Here's our embarrassing wedding photo from 1988 - don't laugh!
After a donor search for Emma. we've been fortunate enough to find a match, and it's such a relief that she's going to have this chance of survival.
Thing is though, there's thousands of other folks from adults to babies who aren't as fortunate and are still waiting to find their donor.
So we're working with the great people at DKMS and The Old Ivy House pub in London to do a donor drive on Saturday 16th August between 2pm and 6pm. We'll be raffling off loads of Spudos crisps kits, and other prizes from local businesses, plus the pub is donating 10% of its takings for the day to DKMS.
To register as a stem cell donor on the day all it takes is quick cheek swab.
So if you're in the London area, why not come along, get swabbed, win yourself some Spudos and do something great with your Saturday!
